Hi,
Please try this new Mac binary (made by François) available on sourceforge. It should word with snow leopard but I can't test it my self since I dont have a Mac machine. Hope this will work for you.

"license.gpl" is a copy of the licence under which K3DSurf is distributed.
"cap3DSurfConfig" : you probably talking about "K3DSurfConfig". It's the config file of K3DSurf where you can customise, for example, the amount of memory used by the software (read it to have more infos on how to use it).

Hi,
This is a recurrent problem with the Mac users and the solution is to release a binary with a proper install procedure and library so users don't have to configure anything (I did it with the Windows version).
Te best way to make it run is to compile/install it yourself: believe me the time spent on this is worth trying and I always encourage Linux/Windows/Mac users to do it.
Sorry but I cant help it for the reason I mentioned in my previous message.

I can launch K3DSurf 0.6.2 http://sf.net/projects/k3dsurf/files/k3dsurf_mac_exe/0.6.2/k3dsurf_0.62.dmg/download on my iMac 27' under Mac OS X 10.6.4 Snow Leopard perfectly.

You may have better results if you install Qt3 from Trolltech http://naranja.umh.es/~atg/QtMac335-Mini-Tiger.pkg.zip QtMac335-Mini-Tiger.pkg.zip because it is built Universal Binary.

Please report.

Thanks,

This version is also running for me under Snow Leopard 10.6.4 perfectly.

With Qt3 from Trolltech installed properly, all the available 0.6.2 binaries are launching properly under Snow Leopard 10.6.4. Please also make sure that the Rosetta PowerPC virtual machine is installed properly. The Rosetta installation package is available in the "Installations facultatives" -> "Optional Installs.mpkg" from the "Mac OS X Install DVD" provided with the Macintosh.

Please Report.

Thanks,

Well, it doesn't matter very much, if it is already installed from a package or the other. So Qt3 from Trolltech is installed on your Macintosh. Well done !

Did you installed the Rosetta PowerPC virtual machine ? The Rosetta installation package is available in the "Installations facultatives" -> "Optional Installs.mpkg" from the "Mac OS X Install DVD" provided with the Macintosh.

If all the packages (Qt3 and Rosetta) are properly installed, please report again the error message in the console history log, please.

You're welcome.

Regards,

I have tried to install k3dsurf twice on my intel iMac and it has failed consistently with a crash on startup. On review of the earlier postings it appears that this was built using PPC expecting the rosetta package. I prefer not to use rosetta and would like to build everything from source, however, my attempts to obtain the source have not worked so far. The tar file at sourceforge appears corrupt as of two weeks ago and i don't know the module names so i cannot use cvs. So, my question here is
(1) How can i obtain the source?
(2) Are there any special build requirements for intel?

Hi,
Quote:

Try this link: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=25049
the first download link (K3DSurf src-0.6.2) is for the source code and it works for me.

Thanks, i was able to download it. The build explanation in the readme is a little lean. I ran qmake and got

Code:
JFG5-3:k3dsurf-0.6.2 jcfried$ qmake
WARNING: Ignored (not found) '/Users/jcfried/Testing/k3dsurf-0.6.2/src/../bin/k3dsurf.xcodeproj'

This xcodeproj generated in the top level of the k3dsurf folder [the wrong place] is not buildable using the latest version of xcode. So, i tried

Code:
qmake -o Makefile k3dsurf.pro

which did nothing.

Is there a page containing a set of Mac build instructions? All help is appreciated.

... jeff

I have a 27" iMac installed with Mac OS X 10.6.4. I installed K3DSurf 0.6.2, Qt3 from Trolltech, and Rosetta, as I already explained.

It works correctly as you can see on the following screenshot of the projects I'm maintaining

You've done something wrong ... I can't explain, if you haven't make something wrong. Because I have an exact similar Macintosh configuration. I'm sorry.
