Hello all
I have created a new Algebraic Surface Viewer with Processing ( http://processing.org/ ).
You can get it from http://openprocessing.org/sketch/48158 .
There are also more information about it. If you are interested in used formulas, they are included in the source code of unit 'Surfaces.pde'

Here's an overview about surfaces realized in version 1.3...

And there you can see more detailed pictures...

have fun Wink Gerd

PS. If you have some nice surface formulas, feel free to publish it in this forum... (may be you'll see it within my new Surface Viewer Wink )

Hi,

the images you posted look great, I would like to try this out. But when I go to http://openprocessing.org/sketch/48158, I don't know what to do next, I am not familiar with processing, I downloaded the OpenProcessingSketch48158.zip and uncompressed it, tried to run directly some jar files, but it didn't work. Can you explain please?

Hi,
that's the way to start the sketch...
- extract folder of OpenProcessingSketch48158.zip from http://openprocessing.org/sketch/48158
- change to this folder (PG_AlgebraicSurfaceViewer)
- open file 'index.html' with a browser
Now you should see the running sketch and 3 links, 2 for the source code and one linked to the OpenProcessing homepage.

The preconditions you have to fulfill are:
- a well working OpenGL installation
- and the Java Runtime Environment (JRE ) see http://java.com/en/download

Hope this helps you to bring it to run... Wink Gerd

Hi denisc

Take a look at http://www.openprocessing.org/sketch/64037
There you can find many new Algebraic Surfaces and the improved Algebraic Surface Viewer v2.3.

Have fun Wink Gerd
