Finally I found people with similar hobby Smile
I'm not using the K3DSurf. I created my own rendering algorithm that doesn't use meshing. So for the time being everything from background, texture (not implemented yet), glass object or plasma is created by isosurfaces or 3D explicit equations only. I cannot use parametric equations either.

Therefore I cannot implement shadows on matte finish or import any geometrical objects.
On the other hand I am not limited by the mesh complexity (size) so detailed flying animation through fractals are probably no problem for me.

Nothing in my algorithm is final, I can use a 3D explicit equation of the refractive index and make glass and air blend together Smile
Not only that, I am planing to use light diffraction, space-time continuum transformations, wormholes and probably also relativistic effects Very Happy

Check out my latest work at http://furan.sweb.cz/ Hope you like the equations.

Hi Furan,
Congratulation, your work shows already a great results for such beasts (I mean the math equations you're using) Very Happy . You're probably implementing a ray tracer algorithm (such as the one used in POV).
Good work and keep it up

Finally I have added frequency based lighting -> dispersion. There are still some bugs however the results are promising and the next step is pretty clear: Spacetime, baby Cool

Yet another render. 16 rays for one pixel. I wish I were an actual artist.

Hello all,
Oh don't say that Furan please, we are very sorry but also you had but to hint for us, maybe this is good for you as a gift I hope it to be decent and I hope you like it, of course it's not appropriate to talk how much it has cost me this time Very Happy it looks a chinese vase or something like that but what I'm sure it's Made in K3DSurf not in China Very Happy

I mustn't forget I'm impressed your last work above was so great Very Happy

Sorry, my bad. I shouldn't have used the word 'last'. I meant 'latest'. Smile
Hopefully next year I will finish my ultimate creation in curved space-time. However I will have to understand some very complex equations in curved space-time and minimal surface theory. I'm very excited about this Smile

I am BACK. Cool
Now working on a more optimized integration technique and aiming for implementing fractals in my mathematical art.

Hello Furan

The pictures on your side are really amazing!
I'm looking forward to more interesting pictures of you.

I would suggest that you add some information about your renderer to your side ( http://furan.sweb.cz/ ), e.g.
- a feature list of your application,
- which programming language you are using to create your application
- and some formula examples you are using for your renderings (interesing for all us).

At your last posting you've rendered a blue Mandelbulb fractal. How is the coloring algorithm that you use? Is it the distance to the figure center?

I should definitely add some basic info about my render. It's only my hobby and therefore I don't have much time for it, however if you see the progress of visual quality, I'm pretty hyped for years to come.
It is programmed in Fortran 77 because my doctoral thesis will be about implementing material models to Finite Element system running in Fortran. So it is in fact another way for me to practice programming in this language.

The Mandelbulb is surrounded in plasma with temperature depending on number of iterations needed for bailout.
You can find some formulae already on my site. If anything they are probably the most important thing so I will definitely add more of them with explanation as soon as I finish developing my renderer.
