Hi all

Because of chrismas is coming I have an idea.
Lets make a little Xmas competition!

Everbody who has some formulas which looks approximately like a tree should publish it - here in this forum!

So please if YOU have a "tree formula" let us know about it...

Within Eureka 2.12, I invented the formula of this kind of tree

that gives this kind of animation http://eureka.atari.org/walking.mov Very Happy

That's designed for cylindrical coordinates described by
Code:
R^1 = mod(4-z)*(4-z)*sin(5*u+pi/2)^2
 With   U[ 0,  2*pi] And V[  0,  4]

But it gives me a syntax error, and I can't explain ?

Any idea ?

Hi all,
Waw..that's a beautiful chrismas tree François Smile
For the formulas, the error message is for the function "mod". You can use the operator "%" to define the modulo function (ex : 5 % 2 = 1 ) but I'm not sure this is the function you're using since I cant reproduce the same shape you have...

That's strange, because mod() is given on http://k3dsurf.sf.net. Is it a mistake ?

I got Christmas Tree !
Code:
R^1 = ((4-z)%1)*(4-z)*sin(5*u+pi/2)^2
 With   U[ 0,  2*pi] And V[  0,  4]

Many thanks Very Happy

my first tree - looks more like a corel - however here it is...

Code:
Name: PG_Xmas_Tree_1
/* Name: PG_Xmas_Tree_1 12/2007 Gerd Platl */
F(): 2-(x^2+y^2)/55-0.135*z-cos(sqrt(x^2+y^2))*sin(12*atan(y/x)) -cos(12*atan(y/x))*sin(z) -cos(z)*sin(sqrt(x^2+y^2))-0.3*(cos(sqrt(x^2+y^2))*cos(15*atan(y/x)) -cos(15*atan(y/x))*cos(z) -cos(z)*cos(sqrt(x^2+y^2)))
[x]: -20 , 20
[y]: -20 , 20
[z]: -30 , 23.5
;
