|
|
I downloaded and installed the beta version of MathMod this morning from source forge. After installation I was greeted with an error window that states: "This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin 'windows'. Available platform plugins are: minimal, offscreen, windows. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
I have not re-installed at this point but this will be my first attempt. Barring this working I'll try installing the alpha and see what happens.
Just wanted to bring this to your attention and see if you have any suggestions/solutions. |

Re-installing the beta version did not work.
A quick download of the alpha checks out and indeed does work on my system. (Win7 64bit)
Any ideas about the beta? |

Hi,
You have three packages for MathMod-1.0-Beta (32Bit, 64Bit and a ziped package), which one isn't working for you?
If the first two packages have the same issue
I would recommend downloading the ziped package that contain both 32Bit and 64Bit. The error message indicate a missing lib and this is easy to fix once we know which package isn't working. _________________ Cheers,

Thanks for the response.
I did download the 64bit exe installer originally. This did not work on my desktop or laptop systems. Same error.
Downloaded the zipped file, and the 64 bit binary provides the same error window.
32 bit binary works from the zipped file. |

Hi,
Please redownload the ziped package and try to execute the 64Bit MathMod binary: I've added some dll and hopefully this time it will work for you.
If you still have the same error message, there is an executable in the package called qtbinpatcher.exe : according to This page , it can fix some related problem too.
For now I can't tell why the 32Bit package with the install/uninstall procedure isn't working.
NB: All the three packages are working well in my Win7/64Bit laptop, unfortunately it's also my only development machine and this makes the testing workflow a little bit inconsistent... _________________ Cheers,

Abderrahman,
Thank you very much for the replies. I'm happy to help you test this out and figure out what is not working.
Did not have any success with the latest zipped file either. 32Bit still works, 64bit presents the same errors. At least I can use the 32bit version in the mean-time.
qtbinpatcher (thanks for including it in the zip file) did not help which is a real bummer. |

Hi,
I think I got it to work now. I uploaded two new packages : MathMod-1.0-BETA(WIN64Bit).exe and MathMod-1.0-Beta(Win32_Win64).zip. Right now the 32Bit and the 64Bit are almost the same however, since the next release candidate, the 64Bit version will offer higher resolution parameters. Hope to be able to make it this week end.
Thank you for pointing me to this 64Bit binary malfunction! _________________ Cheers,

You're quite welcome.
The 64bit Exe works perfectly.
Thank you very much for the quick fix. |
