Hi all,
A very interesting website from Mr. Jos Leys, a great mathematician and artist. He has a vast gallery of mathematical shapes, the bigest one I've seen so far .
He's using a large variety of mathematical imagery technics (Fractals, Math surfaces, Knots, Tilling, Voronoi diagrams...) and seems to master all of them .
Also, there is usually a link to some references that helped to achieve his work.
Big thanks to Jos Leys for this great encyclopedia dedicated to the Mathematical Imagery.

Enjoy

this guy is phantastic. I was most impressed by his Escher tiling works, he developed some of the tilings into circle limits. M. C. Escher did that as well, but only in few tilings.
So Escher's work continues, unveiling what this genius could have done if he had lived longer. I am glad to see that, because I was also thinking these patterns and tilings should be developed further. Since some time I am working on a "Metamorphose"-animation . . . |
